iPhone X catches fire, victim says explosion happened while updating to iOS 121

Phones catching fire became commonplace when handsets from the likes of Xiaomi and Samsung started exploding randomly. There were multiple incidents of smartphone explosions reported recently, some of which also resulted in death and severe injuries. The latest joinee in the list is Apple as a user has complained that his iPhone X spewed smoke while he was charging and updating the device to iOS 12.1. The victim, who has a Twitter handle by the name of Rocky Mohamadali, says that he used the charger and cable that came bundled with the phone in the retail box. Mohamadali tagged Apple on Twitter saying that his “iPhone X just got hot and exploded in the process of upgrading to 12.1 IOS.” To this, Apple Support replied, “That's definitely not expected behavior. DM us, so we can look into this with you.” What’s interesting is that his phone exploded after it was removed from charge and was being updated to the latest 12.1 iOS update. Apple has apparently asked the victim to ship the phone to the company so that it could investigate the cause of the incident. Another user said that his iPhone X is now getting very hot and and slow since he has upgraded to the iOS 12. "I have notice since updating my iPhone 10 to iOS 12-12.1 my iPhone running very slow and hot! My IPhone 10 haven’t been to same since updating!," he said. This is not the first time that an iPhone has been reported to have exploded. Previously, reports from a Swiss Apple Store and an Apple Store in Spain claimed battery explosion. According to Zurich City police, the device suddenly exploded for an unknown reason as it was being removed by a repair worker. A similar incident happened in Spain in which an iPhone spewed smoke when a technician was working on an unspecified iPhone battery. That's definitely not expected behavior.
