Apex Legends Season 1 update brings Battle Passes and new playable character Octane

Highlights Apex Legends gets its first major update.  The Season 1 update adds a new legend in the form of Octane. The update also gives players the option to purchase a battle pass.   Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale shooter Apex Legends is getting its first major update. Called Season 1: Wild Frontier, the update is rolling out to all versions of the game, which includes PC, Xbox One and PS4. The update brings with it a battle pass as well as a new character for players. The most notable addition in Season 1 is the new playable character, Octane. The legends’s tactical ability is Stim, which allows players to move 30% faster for six seconds, but at the cost of health. His passive ability is called Swift Mend that automatically restores health over time. Octane’s ultimate ability is Launch Pad. This lets him deploy a jump pad that allows him and his team mates to launch themselves through the air. There are two battle passes that players have the option of purchasing. This includes the standard Battle Pass and the Battle Pass Bundle. The standard Battle Pass is available for 950 Apex Coins, and gives players the chance to earn over 100 unique items throughout the season. Players also unlock the Lifeline Revolutionary skin, the Wraith Survivor skin, and the Mirage Outlaw skin. The Battle Pass Bundle offers the same rewards as the standard bundle, but lets players unlock their next 25 levels for Season 1 instantly. Players who choose not to purchase a Battle Pass will still get a few freebies such as one Wild Frontier Legend Skin, five Apex Packs and 18 Wild Frontier Stat Trackers.  Apex Legends managed to cement itself as a viable alternative to PUBG and Fortnite. The game is free to play on all platforms and offers compelling gameplay as well. The game even managed to garner 25 million players within a week of launch. With so many players, there were bound to be a few cheaters in the mix. Earlier this month, Respawn announced that they banned 355,000 PC players for cheating.
