OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro to launch in India on May 14: Launch time, passes, how to watch live stream and all you need to know

After a week of teasers, OnePlus has announced that it will launch the OnePlus 7 series on May 14 in Bengaluru. The newest phones will be unveiled at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre in what the company calls its “largest launch event”. The OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will be unveiled at the event on May 14, at 8:15 pm. OnePlus says that this will be the first time in its history that India, the US and Europe will witness the product unveiling simultaneously. The entry vouchers for the launch event will be available at oneplus.in starting 10 am on April 25.

“We will be unveiling a device of the future that features exquisite craftsmanship and breakthrough technologies. Attendees of the event will be among the first to witness the exclusive unveiling of our next breathtaking devices. Book now to meet up with the OnePlus staff and other community members and participate in a range of interactive experiences and demos,” the company said in a press note.

Those who won't be able to make it to the Bangalore launch event can watch the livestream here. The phone will be available on Amazon, and the e-commerce website has already made a microsite dedicated to the OnePlus 7 series of phones. The ‘Notify me’ button on the page is also live on the platform. A video on Amazon.in shows what looks to be the OnePlus 7 Pro with a curved display.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has hinted that the the upcoming phones, the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro, will have an “all-new” display. While OnePlus 7 will be a 4G device, the OnePlus 7 Pro will have 5G support. Almost all the specs of the phones are outed in teasers and leaks. 

OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro specifications:

The OnePlus 7 is expected to sport a 6.4-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and the Pro variant is speculated to feature a 6.7-inch curved Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display. This display is touted to come with 90Hz refresh rate, a screen resolution of 3120x1440 pixels, and a 19.5:9 display aspect ratio. Under the hood, both the phone will feature the Snapdragon 855 chipset, however, only the Pro variant is expected to come with the X50 modem for 5G connectivity.

In the department, the Pro variant could come with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP main camera with f/1.6 aperture and OIS support, an 8MP sensor that is paired with f/2.4 aperture telephoto lens with 3x zoom capability, and a 16MP wide-angle camera with 117 degrees field of view. The Pro variant is also speculated to come with a pop-up selfie camera. When it comes to the non-Pro variant, it is said that the phone will ship with dual cameras with a 48MP sensor with a lens having f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP secondary depth sensor.

The OnePlus 7 Pro could launch in 6GB and 12GB RAM variants with 128GB and 256GB of storage options, respectively. The OnePlus 7 Pro may come with a 4000mAh battery with 30W Warp Charge support, and the OnePlus 7 could house a 3700mAh battery with 20W fast charging support.
